When X is started with start X all the processes start but the screen
remains blank.

This is with the intel driver used in 10.0_BETA X server but with the a 9.3-STABLE X server the modesetting driver shows the same problem.

System console works correctly until X is started but doesn't recover when X is killed.
This is a regression from 9.3 stable where X worked perfectly.
