>Description:
If I open a dialog box in libreoffice or firefox nightly, it's fine on the local FS. I can move around as much as I wish. If I brows a mounted CIFS/SMB mountpoint, the system freezes for a moment then reboots.
sysctl -w ddb.onpanic=1 doesn't drop to a debugger. It's a hard reset.

If I copy data around on/off the share from a cmd line app (mc, rsync, tar) it's fine. I moved 12Tb about. Didn't miss a beat. The first time I open firefox. Save an ISO to /tmp it's fine. The moment I try to save another ISO to the mount point in /mnt/unicron .. system will spontaneously reboot. Trying to open a spreadsheet in libreoffice calc does the same thing. If I copy the file from /mnt/unicron -> /tmp then I can use it just fine. Copy it back. All good.

Seems to only be graphical dialog boxes browsing around. Of note, I can use xv, capture a screenshot and browse to the CIFS share and it's fine. Something in user-space is able to trip the kernel up. Once during a reboot for the briefest moment I saw a lot of green text and errors but it was gone and I've not spotted it since.

Firefox can interestingly browse to the share just fine via the URL bar with the location: file:///mnt/unicron and I can navigate all over the place without any trouble. Sometime in the dialog boxes of apps reboots it. Meld has done it also when I'm comparing source.

/var/crash is empty except for:
 mirage# ls -l /var/crash

-rw------- 1 root wheel 5 May 12 2021 minfree
mirage# cat /var/crash/minfree

>How-To-Repeat:
- Boot my system. Mount the CIFS share via:
  /sbin/mount_smbfs -u1000 -g 100 //uridium@unicron/uridium /mnt/unicron/
- Start firefox. Navigate to ftp.netbsd.org and try to download an image and save it to /mnt/unicron *reboot*

Thank you for your time. It's a strange one. I've triggered this at least 30 times trying to catch and nail it down.
>Fix:
Copy files manually from the command line. Use them. Copy them back.
