one of the systems i see the problem on is currently running
a pkg build of over 1000 packages, and usually will see this
problem. this is an arm64 16-core machine with 64GB ram and
a single 1T nvme. ie, everything is just "/" for me. is there
a way to modify this script usefully for me? i'm not sure how
much will be written to any fs :)

 thanks.
