installation from the image to another usb-stick

hello guys,

when doing this, everything went fine until the point where the new system has to be unmounted due to system reboot. tried to make a CTRL+C and umount -f /targetroot, but didn't help, tried to turn of pc from the menu, can't sync.

After copying the whole partition in FreeBSD from the stick, making a newfs in

netBSD installation, cancelled it, cp'ed it back.

situation: loader starts, but tries to boot from hd0b, instead of (r)sd2a. no

matter what boot options I give it gives me back I/O error.

any experience how to make your own USB stick for nearly every computer?
