The following reply was made to PR install/56255; it has been noted by GNATS.

This was the 9.2 amd64 cd linked on the netbsd.org front page.
The src sets should be on the distro cd, because the installer installs them=
when you select install src. Otherwise you=E2=80=99ll get an error. The d=
istro cd doesn=E2=80=99t say it=E2=80=99s binary only, and finding the src s=
ets was kind of tedious (still in the same basic place as years ago), but a n=
ew user might not be able to to figure it out.
This breaks your documentation and installer.
I get that it would be good to have a binary distro cd, but full distributio=
n cd image should be provided as well.
Thanks,
PS, the installer __still__ doesn=E2=80=99t properly partition and label dis=
ks (created a whole disk e partition, kernel can=E2=80=99t boot), but I=E2=80=
=99ve given up complaining about that. I put in some but reports many yea=
rs ago (version 5, 6, 7 maybe).
