Actually, on the X250 the problems lie elsewhere.

The audio buttons work - in the tty. In X11 you have to configure
them yourself. This is normal on NetBSD.

The brightness buttons were (I believe) broken by the 9.0 drmkms
update, someone forgot to reimplement the right bits.

The keypresses are detected in the kernel but it cannot adjust
the backlight without aid from intel_backlight from pkgsrc.
