>Description:
I believe postfix should indicate it is starting at boot time like other daemons with a message of
Starting postfix.
sshd , inetd, nfsd and (almost?) all the other major daemons seem to have this behavior.
I have an older ppc system and for awhile couldn't figure out why it was taking so long to start up. It would have been nice to have an indication when postfix was starting and running.
>How-To-Repeat:
boot system and look at console during boot
>Fix:
adjust /etc/rc.d/postfix somehow
