 ah!  i see.  it wants either all one or the other, not some combo.
 
 thanks.  i'll figure out a solution.  so far, my best idea is to
 teach request_firmware() that if it sees "radeon/<lowercase>" to
 actually look in "radeon/lower/<thing>", and have the lower case
 names installed into the extra sub dir.  it's ugly, but it avoids
 having to patch many lines in radeon code.
