it's not a problem, ABI didn't change between 8.0 and 8.1, the packages
are the same.

It's probably a hardware-dependant crash. Can you give more details about
it ? Anything relevant in dmesg or /var/log/Xorg.0.log after the crash ?
Any core dump ?
