 Well, if it makes machines hang, that's a reason to improve the driver
 or disable it, in my eyes.
 
 I replaced it with "com* at acpi*" but no com device was detected (and
 there are no serial connectors on the outside of the machine). So not
 even ACPI believes it has a serial interface, and still com0 at isa*
 attaches.
