}  patch to test, I found some IPMS handling in OpenBSD driver which
}  might help things.

}  Meanwhile, can you please boot in debug mode (boot -x), and send me
}  the part of dmesg where it would say either:
}  "....: error 0x.. sending FIS"
}  or
}  "...: timeout sending FIS"

     I'm having the same problem with one of my systems, so I've
been following the thread.  However, as a point of interest, I've
noticed that if I boot the system as a Xen Dom0 then it never fails
whereas it quite often fails if I boot a regular kernel and needs
numerous attempts to recognise the first drive.
