 Now that I have a work-around for PR 52266, I tried booting a -current
 kernel on the machine in case, which had not been turned on for 8
 years and still had NetBSD 4.99.30 installed.
 
 Sadly, this resulted in "panic: init died (signal 0, exit 1)".  As
 much as I would have liked to confirm that PR 28459 is now fixed,
 12 years after filing it, I'm afraid it will have to be closed as
 "submitter no longer able to test".
