Hi,
To use timidity you'll have to install sound samples as well eg.
audio/eawpatches.
In solfege under File->Preferences->Sound Setup(tab)
Select use external midi player.
Under Fie->Preferences->External Programs(tab)
Look in the section Audio file players
Where it says MIDI: midiplay - use the drop down control to select timidity.
solfege should now work with timidity and dev/audio.
FWIW: a kernel from current would use midiplay also with a speaker(4) device.
Best regards,
Nat
