 Done.  I'm still seeing the same strange behavior where running
 ifconfig -a repeatedly shows the TENTATIVE flag set for the first six
 seconds or so and clear thereafter, even though the loop of "ifconfig
 -a" commands is started at a completely arbitrary point in time
 relative to when the interface was first configured or last used.
