I have tried playing FLAC, WAV/AIFF and OGG files under both moc and mpv under NetBSD 7.0 on the Banana Pi and in all cases there is a regular, clearly audible clicking sound - approx 2/3 clicks per second - distorting the audio.

The clicking only occurs when sound is being output and the noise increases/decreases proportionately with the volume of the audio being output.
