 The "port is broken" is about a minor nit in the console keyboard support
 functions, that is pretty much irrelevant here.
 
 However, before that it should says something like "panic: ..." and give a
 lot of usefull information about what actually did go wrong. Can you create
 a screen shot and make that available somewhere?
