 When I looked last, which was a long time ago, I thought PearPC
 couldn't emulate a 601 and was doing some kind of G4.  So I don't if
 it would have these kind of alignment issues.
 
 Just browsing pkgsrc, another emulator that can do powerpc is QEMU,
 but I haven't tried that one either.
