commiting 10k lines of changes just to remove white spaces
induces a lot of random changes that don't fix any bugs or
fix any real problem. it also causes problems with merging
code -- both for netbsd developers, and for 3rd party ones
 taking our code.

the only time it's valid to perform these sorts of mass
edits is when you're already changing the file.
