I may have one of these; should I check?
Sure!I started to look into it a while ago, but could not get very far, and then the bug disappeared without a trace. It was totally repeatable on the 5.99.55 and 5.99.60 kernels, and totally non-repeatable on 5.99.59.
I stopped looking at it after not finding any "interesting" changes, and eventually forgot about it. Now I no longer have that machine to work with.
FWIW, my current production server also has a piixpm, and it probes properly under 6.99.x
