|  I've lost track of where this is at.  Christos commited that work 
|  around in 1.43 then backed it out in 1.44.  I don't know if there is 
|  some alternative fix in HEAD that is waiting on testing before pullup 
|  to 6 - I haven't tried a HEAD install cd.

Let's have someone try that hack and see if it works.
