 Update:
 
 I had to bring up the machine ASAP (still struggling with it, though), so I
 re-installed. After newfs'ing the data partition with 32K/4K blocksize, I
 haven't seen the panic again.
 
 OTOH, it looks like I have been there before: The panic I reported after a
 previous hw upgrade in kern/44651 looks suspiciously similar. I remember
 when I tried a non-{DEBUG,DIAGNOSTIC} kernel this time, I also got a
 "freeing free inode" panic.
