 i386

Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:

Running recent -current on i386 and now when I close my laptop
lid, the screen stays off when I open it back up. While in X.

My workaround is to press ctrl-alt-F1, wait a moment and screen
wakes up, and then press ctrl-alt-f5.

It happens every time. (I originally thought it was random, but one hinge
is broken so when I close my laptop lid sometimes the lid switch
is not pressed.)

My first terminal says every time:

/etc/powerd/scripts/lid_switch exited with status 1

I have
     $NetBSD: lid_switch,v 1.5 2008/06/20 02:38:00 jmcneill Exp $

my customization is:

 released)
               /usr/pkg/sbin/vbetool dpms on

I have been using for over two years.

So now I see

$ sudo  /usr/pkg/sbin/vbetool dpms on
mmap /dev/mem: Permission denied
Failed to initialise LRMI (Linux Real-Mode Interface).

This is vbetool-0.7-1nb1

I didn't try rebuilding/reinstalling vbetool as I don't think
NetBSD kernel upgrade should break my system.
