Userland is still 5.1-release but the kernel is now:

 NetBSD 5.99.53 (MONOLITHIC-GW) #0: Fri Jun 24 10:25:02 CDT 2011

[which is MONOLITHIC with 'options GATEWAY' added, built from -current
 as of 6/23 ~1600 CDT]
 and I'm still seeing:

 Jun 24 15:30:11 allin1 /netbsd: ath0: device timeout (txq 1, txintrperiod 5)
 Jun 24 15:30:28 allin1 /netbsd: ath0: device timeout (txq 1, txintrperiod 4)
 Jun 24 15:30:38 allin1 /netbsd: ath0: device timeout (txq 1, txintrperiod 3)
 Jun 24 15:31:07 allin1 /netbsd: ath0: device timeout (txq 1, txintrperiod 2)
 Jun 24 15:36:35 allin1 /netbsd: ath0: device timeout (txq 8, txintrperiod 1)
 Jun 24 15:42:54 allin1 /netbsd: ath0: device timeout (txq 8, txintrperiod 1)
