 I was using a CD-R. The computer didn't have a DVD drive.  I ended up
 using FreeBSD on that machine for about a year, then gave it away.
 Since I no longer have it, I won't be able to test any solutions.
 
 From my perspective, it's a closed ticket since solving the problem
 would no longer benefit me.
