I will test this when I update the machine later (altough I first need
to solve my problem with my laptop, I updated it to current and
updated also x11 and now I cannot get X11 working at all, not even
vesa drivers, it always complains that no devices found, that laptop
has nv drivers, next I need to see whether it was xorg or kernel
 update which broke things...).

I think this case can be closed after note about ShadowFB is added, as
that already will provide information to others who might have similar
 problem.
