>Environment:
netbsd i386 generic 5.99.24
>Description:
With current kernel, hal does not register adding or removing removable
devices. I connect a USB and see it in my dmesg, however there are still 94
devices in lshal, just as before connecting the USB, and while I see the name
of the device in dmesg, i can also see, that hal has not registered that device.

With the same stable version of pkgsrc, but with 5.0-stable kernel, it all
works well.

Tested on 3 different machines (dual core, pro, and old 586MMX) with i386 arch
with the same result.

Without working hal, there is no chance of using desktop env. such as kde or
gnome or xfce comfortably.

Any idea, where the problem lies? And I repeat, I tested it on identical
systems with the same setting, it is just the current kernel, on which the
behaviour of hal depends. And the same bad results are with 5.99.23 and 5.99.22.

>How-To-Repeat:
Install current, install hal from the pkgsrc-stable, run hal, connect usb stick
and.... nothing.
