 I tried it with a GENERIC 5.0.1 kernel, and the effect still occurs.
 For fun I also tried sleep_state=2..5: 5 turned power off (as expected),
 4 was aborted because some device didn't support it, and 2 and 3 were
 reported as "not supported".
 I'll stick to APM sleep for the moment.
