 I am not able to reproduce the problem with NetBSD 4.0.1
 
 ping -f somehow dies if I suspend the machine but the machine does not lock up.
 
 So I guess this particular problem is fixed.
 
 The suspend to disk would also work (it cannot be invoked from NetBSD
 but a designated key combination must be used) but unfortunately it
 kills graphics and sound so it is not very useful.
