I had a similar problem with a 790GX (the system from PR 39671).
There were no problems when I installed NetBSD, because I changed the
settings to AHCI before installing it.
But at one point I changed it to SATA and then the FIRST disk (wd0) had
problems.
The second disk (wd1) had no problem (except for the point where wd0 was marked
as failed in the raid set). wd2 was also in the system, but I had no partition
on it so I can't be sure that everything was ok, but there were no errors from
wd2.
