Configuring and using a bluetooth headset, I don't get sound
either way (recording or playing). Following section 20.7.1 of
the NetBSD Guide, everything is fine up until the bthset(1)
command is run. While I hear beeps in the device, that command
never returns (it can be ^C'd, though), and subsequent uses of
audioplay and audiorecord don't get any packet in or out of the
audio device. I do hear additional beeps when I ^C e.g.
audioplay and it quits.

According to the MAC address, this Bluetooth device seems to be
from Perfect Tech (00:12:c8).
