Bug http://www.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/query-pr-single.pl?number=37033 is still open 
for all architectures except acorn32; this bug was even introduced into the 4.0 
release, ISOs for all of these architectures are missing, and have been in HEAD 
builds since the bug initially appeared.

There was a fix mentioned in bug 37033, but it was apparantly only tested on 
acorn32, where it seemed to work, and has since then. All other architectures 
could theoretically use the same fix, but this was never implemented.
