>Description:

If you want to install NetBSD 4.0 and/or NetBSD 4.99.61 from HEAD onto WD2500
hard disk, installation stops with these messages:

Command: disklabel -w -r -f /tmp/disktab wd0 `diskname`
Status: Command failed
--------------------------------------
disklabel: partition c: offset past end of unit

And if you carefully check wd0d partition, you see that whole disk is only 67
MB, not 250 GB.

>How-To-Repeat:

Try to install NetBSD 4.0 to this hard disk.

>Fix:

No real fix.

If you select IDE controller through BIOS, NetBSD is installed but disk
performance greatly reduced.

Problem machine: tar -xzvf pkgsrc.tar.gz > 220 secs
Similar machine with AHCI support: tar -xzvf pkgsrc.tar.gz > 80 secs
