Machine: cobalt
>Description:
-current source changes around 2007-12-2[01] broke
pkgsrc/net/netatalk funtionality. Before my installed netatalk
package was flawlessly able to configure the ethernet device
and startup all relevant netatalk daemons. After these changes
I see several error messages:
atalkd[1434]: restart (2.0.3)
atalkd[1434]: zip_getnetinfo for tlp0
/netbsd: ddp_route: no address found
atalkd[1434]: zip_getnetinfo sendto: Invalid argument
atalkd[1434]: bootaddr (zip_getnetinfo): Invalid argument
atalkd: difaddr(0.0): Can't assign requested address
atalkd: difaddr(0.0): Can't assign requested address
timelord[349]: main: atp_open: Can't assign requested address
[...]
afpd[727]: main: atp_open: Can't assign requested address
... and the atalk based network communications no longer work/get
configured.
Beside the updated kernel I didn't change anything of the running
system, esp. _not_ netatalk's config files..
I verified that this problem is present on my cobalt qube2 / mipsel
and my i386 machine.
Recompiling the pkgsrc/net/netatalk package (from scratch) doesn't
change anything.
Simply reverting the src/sys/netatalk change of that time
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/source-changes/2007/12/21/0009.html
does not solve the problem.
Because the kernel changes provoked this problem for me I've put this
pr under category 'kern' (but maybe the solution will be some pkg
changes ;-)).
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to run an installed pkgsrc/net/netatalk package on an
actual -current machine and see how it fails to configure
ethernet devices with atalk.
>Fix:
unknown
