What fails with the CD drive is a mount session that was active at the
time of the suspend/resume. In a recent test, I mounted a CD and
accessed files on it, then suspended the machine. When I resumed, I
could not look at other files. I could, however, unmount it; when I
reissued the mount command, it was fully functional (as a reader; I
 haven't tried burning anything).
