It's difficult, since I'm using a LiveCD and hence have no easy way to
get anything off the machine at that point...  Briefly, though, I'm
getting an I/O error -- "not ready", as I recall, any time it tries
going to either the (previously inserted) flash disk or the CD.  I'll
try again and see if I can get better data.
