I don't think it's relevant, but I've disabled several onboard
peripherals in the bios, most notably the wireless card, the serial
port, irda, a softmodem and the parallel port. The latter of which has
been so for years to get a 2.6.8 linux kernel to detect the audio card.
The others are disabled because I have no need for them and disabling
the wireless card actually saves some battery time.
