 Same here. I've been able to boot a 4.0_RC3 GENERIC kernel downloaded from 
 FTP, but not a GENERIC kernel I compiled myself (with exactly the same 
 configuration). I'll investigate further, but the problem seems to originate 
 with my sources/compilation rather than with NetBSD itself.
