The default installation CD can not be used for maintenance on partitions which are encrypted using CGD.

>How-To-Repeat:
Boot installation CD. Attempt to configure CGD devices.
>Fix:
Enable CGD in the installation kernel. Or include an extra "maintenance kernel" (assuming there's no need to muck around with the 2.88MB images any longer), which has CGD enabled, on the installation CD:s which users can chose to boot.
