>Description:
Playing any audio data (mp3, .WAV, etc.) on interim -current and again
on NetBSD-4.0_BETA2/i386 produces output in short loops that creep
along the data stream until it's finally all played.  The loops
themselves are about 1/2-second long.

This happens with xmms, mpg123, audioplay, mplayer-plugin-firefox, etc.
When mpg123 was allowed to play a file for 60 seconds and then
terminated, it reported that it had only played for 3 seconds.

The previous NetBSD-4.0_BETA played audio without any problems.
All player software was rebuilt from scratch following the update to
interim -current and then -4.0_BETA2.

Admittedly, I have only been able to test this one machine so far...

NetBSD-4.0_BETA2/sparc does not exhibit any problems with audio output.
