 I'll revert the parts that try to switch to enhanced mode.
 
 I'm wondering about that part (which is actually the reason it was
 committed at first) that switch an AHCI controller into IDE mode.
 
 While the intent is good, I'm a bit shaky at the idea of changing
 a device's product ID (it is a side effect of the switch) after the
 kernel has booted.
