With the 3.1_RC1 amd64 usb cdrom...
Have only fraction of second to read, something like:
uhub0: device problem: disabling port0
uhub0: device problem: disabling port1
uhub1: device problem: disabling port0
before the installer language selection, at which point, game over, no keyboard. 
I believe this blade chassis uses usb kvm, and there is no PS/2 interface on board.
I've tried every permutation of BIOS settings and keyboard connections
(there is usb v1 port and ps2 on chassis back kvm and usb v2 port on front of blade)
