 Hello,

originally I understood installing a newer version of gcc from pkgsrc
and setting a variable in /etc/mk.conf to use that compiler instead.
By the way, what would that variable be?

 But looking at http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/pkgsrc/lang/gcc3/Makefile
I find that the latest version is 3.3.5 !?

Well, alternatively there is lang/gcc34 as well, would that one make sense?

Reinstalling NetBSD current is not posible because all versions later
 than March 06 seam broken.
 http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-hp700/2006/06/11/0000.html
And just installing a newer package blindly over an existing one does
not seam good practice to me.

Can you please say more specific what and how you wanted me to check
 for the PR?

 Regards

 Rudi
