 hi brian,

 the point is that it happens with NetBSD 3.0-RELEASE (w/o your patch),
 as well as two (own) builds of NetBSD-3, with and without your patch;
 most interestingly, a nearly same configured machine at a remote data
 center does not show this problem.

 i tested my machine with

 a) a SMC 10/100 Hub,

 b) a Nortel 450-24T managed switch,

 c) a cross over cable directly connected to a Power Mac G4.

 no differences here. autonegotiation works perfectly for fxp0, so no
 half/full duplex problem. netstat -i doesn't show Ierrs/Oerrs, however.

 AFAICS your patch is not involved here, and that's why i reported back.

 thank,

 timo
