 This reproducably fails on my machine with a GENERIC kernel, but works with
 a stripped down custom kernel that I usually run.
 
 When it fails, the clone'd process SIGFAULTs on return to userland from
 the __clone call (aka fork). The core shows most registers 0 (including %fp).
 
 Quentin reported that he can reproduce the problem on another machine.
