 Hello,

This is an old PR: as I remember, I had this problem while booting a NetBSD
diskless kernel that mounts its FS by NFS and write datas onto a FAT
partition on the local hard drive managed by the mpt driver (a system of my
own that installs windows thanks to NetBSD !).

No pb with the disks (and the whole hardware), there were working very well
 by using Linux or windows.

I think I also performed additional tests by booting the sysinst cdrom and
use dd (no use of NFS nor custom kernel), but I'm not sure.

Please also notice that I was using a 1.6R kernel, so the problem may also
come from another bug, nothing related with mpt ?

Unfortunately, I don't have access any more to this hardware (DELL Precision
320), so I can't test a newer NetBSD version to see if this has been
 resolved (disapeared) or not.

So I suggest to close this PR.

 Regards,
