>Description:
I updated pkgsrc, ran lintpkgsrc -i, discovered the KDE V3.4.1 release and so I upgraded KDE from 3.4.0 to 3.4.1 using make update of meta-pkgs/kde3 which did not install kdebase-3.4.1, so I tried the make update manually for this module. I am relatively new at the BSD game and was still figuring out how all the package and make stuff tie together - now it has become obvious (!) Unfortunately I don't have the pkgsrc directory for x11/kdebase3 for V3.4.0 anymore and I can't get KDE back up because the failed build deletes everything (I thought that was one of the reasons for keeping distfiles was for - apparently not - meaning I need to keep save older versions of pkgsrc itself). I am still trying to figure out the best way to recover my KDE installation because I don't want to lose all the settings for it, so getting back the pkgsrc directory structure for x11/kdebase3 for V3.4.0 would have been the best way to go if I could discover how to get it.
At this point I don't know if the bug was in the make or the compilation, but I am sure this problem can be repeated for someone else. I've had relatively good success with the pkgsrc-make process/procedure up to this point.
>How-To-Repeat:
See the full description above.
>Fix:
Fallback to kdebase-3.4.0 (if I could get the pkgsrc directory for it, which I cannot locate anywhere).
