 i verified that cgd(4) is unrelated to the issue.  in single-user mode i
 newfs-ed swap partition (in multi-user it's also a cgd(4) volume),
 mounted it and created a couple of files on it and suspend/resumed.  no
 cgd devices were configured at that time.  the same error occured and
 disk hung.
