Last week I tried to recover some files from a borked Windows XP pc, using a NetBSD install cd and mount_ntfs.  mount_ntfs gave an input/output error, and refused to mount the filesystem.  With a Linux cd, it worked allright.

Maybe add a -f / --force option to mount_ntfs (it's mounted read-only anyway).
