System: NetBSD swinger.shagadelic.org 1.6ZE NetBSD 1.6ZE (SWINGER) #1: Sun Nov 2 17:51:41 PST 2003 thorpej@yeah-baby.shagadelic.org:/u1/netbsd/src/sys/arch/macppc/compile/SWINGER macppc
Architecture: powerpc
Machine: macppc
>Description:
On a G4 with the following display:

000:16:0: ATI Technologies Rage Fury MAXX AGP 4x (TMDS) (VGA display)

exiting the X server leaves the console in a mode incompatible
with the Samsung SyncMaster 570S TFT display I'm using with this
	machine.

OFW and NetBSD can both use this display properly. The X server
is taking a bad exit path (maybe trying to put it into VGA text
mode, and getting something wrong on the way out?)

>How-To-Repeat:
CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE the X server, or simply let it exit cleanly.

	NFI
