>Description:
Tried installing netBSD on my new laptop (parents sent it after my brother decided it was "possessed by demons" so naturally i've been trying to get a BSD running).
it is Averatec model # 3120V, mobile celeron processor, one type II pcmcia/cardbus slot, acpi, no parallel port or serial port. FreeBSD hung on the boot in a sort of pci0 and parallel port sort of region but booted in safe mode and sort of ran (didn't boot even when i disabled parallel/serial ports). NetBSD booted part way. THe last lines it displayed were:
wsdisplay0 at vga1 kbdmux 1: console (80x25, vt100 emulation)
wsmux1: connecting ot wsdisplay0
vendor 0x1217 product 0x6972 (CardBus bridge) at pci0 dev 3 function 0 not configured
isa0 at pcib0
and then it hangs forever and never boots any further :(
thought netBSD would work on my crappy new hardware, any suggestions??????????????
